Mr. Jason Edward Walden, age 42 Born October 14, 1980, died Saturday, September 16, 2023 at his home.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 22, 2023, in the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marty Grimes and Bro. Ross Van Pelt officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Lookout FCM on Tabor Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the Funeral Home. Jason was an employee of Cherokee Electric for the past 11 years. Pallbearers will include Mike Dodd, Billy Wayne Clanton, Elbert McCullough, Kevin Farmer, Hayden Ray, and Cason Webb, Honorary pallbearers will include Cherokee Electric Co-op employees.
He is survived by his wife, Misty Walden, son, Hayden Ray, parents, Eddie & Lisa Walden, mother-in-law, Jeannie Jones, father-in-law, JP Layfield, grandmother, Linda Sexton, special uncle, Jeremy (Marylin) Webb, godparents, Champ & Joan England, several nieces & nephews, & cousins, special friends, Cherokee Electric Co-Op, Etowah Class of ’99, Marine Class of ’00.
He was preceded in death by his brother in arms, Ricky Adams, aunt, Tammy Fox, grandparents, Clarence & Una Walden, Jimmy Webb, step-grandfather, Snake Sexton.
Jason was a native of Gadsden and was of the Baptist faith, and a member of the United States Marine Corps, Jason received various commendations and Marine Corps medals during his time of service. He served during Iraqi Freedom from 2004-2005, Jason was Honorable Discharged in 2008.
