Shots Fired on Pennington Avenue in Rome

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in a drive-by shooting in South Rome last Sunday.

According to just-released Rome Police Department reports the incident occurred at around 3:45pm on Pennington Avenue and a Buick Verano was struck by the gunfire.  Officers later located a total of sixteen .45 caliber shell casings, three 5.56 shell casings – and multiple broken tail light pieces – all spread along Pennington Avenue.  Witnesses reported seeing a couple of different vehicles, as well as two men walking in the area at around the time the gunshots were heard.
