Motorcyclist Killed Thursday; Second Fatal Motorcycle Crash in a Week in the Same Area of Rome

For the second time in several days a motorcyclist was killed on Highway 53 just north of the Ball Metal Recycling Plant near the Shannon area.  The latest crash occurred Thursday morning at the intersection of Shannon Circle.

According to Floyd County Police a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling north – when a pickup truck turned left in front of it fatally injuring Bradley Marc Sharpe, age 49, in the collision.  And last Friday evening – a Chevy Silver Silverado attempted to cross Highway 53 at Shannon Road and it collided with a Suzuki GSX.  The crash claimed the life of 26 year old Jonathan Dunn, of Rome.

Both wrecks remain under investigation.
