Plans, surveying, and engineering are now complete and the streetscape project will soon begin on Monday, September 18, 2023. Area residents need to understand  this project requires the use of heavy equipment for the removal and replacement of infrastructure and amenities such as sidewalk, curb and gutter, light post, drainage structures, crosswalks, etc.

Traffic may be reduced to one lane at various stages of the project to allow for removal and replacement of items. The construction phase of this project will last ninety (90) days, barring any extension due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. This is a $640,000 Improvement Project on Anniston’s West 15th Street from Governor Kay Ivey’s Grant Award for the City of Anniston Transportation Alternative Set-Aside Grant.
