Thursday Accident at Mountain View Intersection in Georgia

The Georgia State Patrol responded to an accident Thursday at the Mountain View Intersection and Highway 27.  Trooper Doug Shamblin stated that a car being driven by an elderly Trion woman – attempted to cross an intersection from First Street – and drove into the path of a semi truck. 

The truck driver, who was from Minnesota, attempted to avoid hitting the vehicle but was unable to avoid the accident.  After striking the car that the elderly woman was driving, the truck’s load shifted and the truck then overturned.  A stop sign, yield sign and street sign were taken out as a result of the accident.   Neither the elderly woman or the truck driver were seriously injured. 

We will have more information when a final report is released by the Georgia State Patrol.
