Floyd County Former Youth Minister Facing 40 Years in Prison

A 26year-old former youth minister is facing up to forty years in prison after pleading guilty to child molestation charges recently in Georgia.  Austin Wray Perkins was Youth Minister at Grace Fellowship Baptist Church – he was arrested and charged with both felony Child Molestation, and the Sexual Exploitation of Children. 

According to reports at the time of his arrest, Perkins took the child in his home – and molested the boy.  Perkins was arrested in March, 2022 after an investigation by the Floyd County Police Department, the GBI and the U.S. Secret Service. 

The court is waiting on the results of a psychosexual evaluation of Perkins before sentencing.
