Class 1A Spring Garden and Class 3A Piedmont dropped in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association football rankings. The latest poll was released early Wednesday morning.
Spring Garden (1-1), which lost to Coosa Christian 21-6 on Friday, fell four spots to No. 10 in this week’s 1A rankings. The Panthers look to rebound at Wadley (2-0) to open Region 6 play on Friday.
Piedmont (0-1) also tumbled with its 26-7 loss to Cherokee County on Friday. The Bulldogs dropped five places to No. 8. The Bulldogs travel to ninth-ranked Sylvania (1-0) on Friday to begin Region 6 action.
Speaking of Cherokee County (2-0), the Warriors hold steady at No. 2 in Class 4A. They received a first-place vote and will travel to Good Hope on Friday to begin Region 6 play.
Class 2A Collinsville (1-0) continues to receive votes for the poll. The Panthers are coming off a 47-0 win at Gaylesville and will travel to Section in Region 7 action Friday.
