Sand Rock reaches semifinals in Battle at the Lake Volleyball Tournament at Supreme Courts

GUNTERSVILLE – Sand Rock went 4-1 in the Battle at the Lake Volleyball Tournament at Supreme Courts in Guntersville on Saturday, losing in the semifinals to tournament winner Mobile Christian.

In pool play, Sand Rock defeated Oneonta 25-13, 20-25, 17-15; White Plains 25-12, 25-9; and Ramsay 25-22, 25-19.

The Lady Wildcats (11-5) then beat Decatur in the quarterfinals of gold bracket 25-19, 25-19 before losing in the tournament semifinals to Mobile Christian 19-25, 8-25.

For the tournament, Rylin St.Clair delivered 101 assists. Katelyn St.Clair compiled 53 kills, 38 digs and five aces. Chloe Stephens posted 70 digs and five aces. Zoey Handy had 22 kills and six blocks. Bethany Davis collected 19 kills, 33 digs and five aces. Peyton Johnson finished with 13 kills, seven aces and seven blocks.

Sand Rock hosts Fort Payne and Hokes Bluff on Tuesday.
