Deputies Stop Burglary in Progress in Blanche Area

According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, deputies were patrolling in the Blanche area and they were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle parked near a house on County Road 125.   Chief Deputy Josh Summerford and SGT. Brent Snead arrived on scene and found three individuals taking items from the house.

Summerford and Snead arrested Christopher Chappell (45 y/o) of Centre, Robert Abernathy (43 y/o) of Gaylesville, and Joshua Taylor (30 y/o) from Cedar Bluff, and they were all transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center – and all charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft of Property 3rd charges.

Sheriff Jeff Shaver stated “This is another reminder of reporting something if it looks suspicious. The people in our communities play a vital role in helping prevent crime.”
