This past summer, SRO Jamie Parris was presented with The Alabama
Association of School Resource Officers (TAASRO) LIfesaving Award for
his quick response to a student having a medical emergency on the
sideline of a Spring Garden football game. His prompt response and quick
thinking to perform CPR was definitely the deciding factor in saving the
life of the student. During the incident and prior to SRO Parris’s
involvement, Senior Aubrey Sadler jumped the fence when she saw her
fellow student fall and quickly alerted SRO Parris and others of the
incident as well as locating the student’s family. As a result, TAASRO
awarded SRO Parris the award at the conference and, after discovering
Aubrey’s involvement, also awarded Aubrey with the same award. They were
proud that a fellow student would take the initiative that Aubrey did
and wanted to recognize her as well. Congratulations to SRO Parris and
Aubrey Sadler.
