60-Year-Old Woman Killed in North Alabama House Fire
A woman died Tuesday inside a house on fire in north Alabama, in Piedmont according to fire officials on Wednesday.
Piedmont Police, Fire, and EMS Personnel – were all dispatched Tuesday to Greenwood Road on a call of a structure fire – with a person possibly trapped inside the house. Authorities who first arrived on the scene were told that a woman was trapped in the home.
Piedmont firefighters and police made a number of attempts to reach the victim but were unsuccessful.
Following an hours-long search and rescue operation the victim was found in the home. She was pronounced dead.
That blaze remains under investigation.
