Two Separate Accidents with Injuries Sunday Morning in Cherokee County

Cherokee County First Responders were on the scene of not one but two separate accidents – just moments apart – early Sunday morning in Cherokee County.

The first wreck occurred around 5:50am, when a black Hyundai Alantra crashed near the Alabama/Georgia state line on County Road 809.  Emergency crews from McCord’s Crossroads, as well as Atrium Hospital were on that scene to provide treatment for the female driver.

Just moments later, around 6:10am – the male driver of a Chevy S10 pickup left the roadway and crashed into a tree.  The wreck was near Little River Baptist Church on Highway 273.

The driver was pinned inside the vehicle, and emergency crews including members of the Tucker’s Chapel Fire Department and a Leesburg Firefighter, along with Floyd EMS, were on the scene in moments.

The driver of the truck was released from his vehicle – and then airlifted from the scene for treatment.

Both wrecks remain under investigation.
