One Dead in Auto Collision in Floyd County, Georgia on Thursday / UPDATE – Victim from Alabama

UPDATE

Authorities have now identified the individual fatally injured in a two-vehicle wreck in Cave Spring, Georgia, Thursday, as being a resident of Alabama.

On Highway 411 South, Georgia 9-1-1 dispatch received reports of a head-on collision involving both a pickup and semi-truck on Highway 411 South close to Chalwood Lane and also to the area of Jeremy Todd Road in Cave Spring.   Floyd County Police established a roadblock at the Sunoco Gas Station, and the La Cabana Restaurant intersection, closing both road lanes to traffic for several hours.

The Floyd County Coroner was called to the scene – and Georgia State Troopers advised that the driver of the pickup (a red Ford Ranger) had passed away as a result of the crash.  According to Deputy Floyd County Coroner, John Hamilton – 21-year-old Gabriel Aguilar-Henandez of Alabama was pronounced dead at the scene at around 5:00pm.
