Man Gets DUI in Church Parking Lot

A 34-year-old man was arrested for DUI for drugs while parked in a church parking lot in Trion, recently.

According to Chattooga County, Georgia Sheriff’s Office reports, a deputy spotted a vehicle parked at Solid Rock Baptist Church last Thursday and pulled in to investigate.

The deputy had to wake the driver up to talk to him.  The driver told the deputy that he was so tired that he had to pull into the church parking lot to sleep.  The deputy asked the man just why he was so tired – and if he had any medical issues – or if he had taken anything to make him so sleepy.

The driver said that he didn’t have any medical issues – but the deputy could tell that the man was under the influence of some substance “making him drowsy”, according to the report.

According to reports – following a field sobriety check – Steven Matthews Cline was arrested for DUI for drugs and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
