Centre McDonald’s Employee Shows Courage in Cancer Battle

Anyone that has been to the McDonald’s Restaurant in Centre – from opening until 12:00 noon each day – has certainly had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Martha Brown.

For 29 years, her smile, her warm-hearted greeting, and helpful manner has been a welcome part of the day for all those coming through the front door – and her smiling face has certainly been a great beginning to the day for so many over the years.

Miss Martha has coordinated Breast Cancer displays – and she’s also helped to organize important activities for help in battling Breast Cancer; her activities have included leading scores of the public in Learning/Fellowship/Feasting sessions and more.

Miss Martha has helped those in need – through her activities in the church, and encouraging residents and visitors to the “Pine-View Crossing Apartment Complex” to be aware, and “Look Out” for each other.

She is, indeed, a VERY special lady.

Now, she needs YOUR help.

Miss Martha has been diagnosed with cancer, for a second time.

She has had to quit her job, and desperately needs help with the on-going medical bills and other daily living expenses.

An account has now been set up at First Southern State Bank in Centre; donations in any amount can be made in person, or may be mailed to First Southern at 201 West Main Street in Centre.

Martha is an inspiration to ALL with her gracious, good attitude – saying “I want everyone to know that cancer is NOT FUN – nor is it EASY.  Just know that it takes courage, and strength, to deal with it.  There is always a person that will be your strength; just know that God will always be with you, and earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.  I’m happy to be alive and I urge you to have regular health check ups.”

Miss Martha would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support.
