The driver of an 18 wheeler was killed early Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in neighboring Etowah County.
The wreck took place at 2:20pm on I-59 at the 188 mile marker, and Alabama State Troopers say that the male driver, identified as a resident of Pooler, Georgia was fatally injured in the crash.
Troopers are currently investigating the cause of the accident – and it remains unclear at this point – exactly why the driver lost control of the big rig – a 2007 Volvo.
