This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the counties served by the National Weather Service office in Birmingham.

Outlook through Tonight.

Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds may impact parts of Central Alabama. These storms are possible for areas near and north of I-20 through 9 AM.

Isolated storms may develop after 4 this afternoon across the southern portions of Central Alabama. Damaging winds and large hail are possible.

After 4 PM, another MCS may develop and slide into northern portions of Central Alabama. Severe storms will be possible with damaging winds and large hail a big concern. Activity will slide south and east through the evening, before ending by 1 AM. Localized flooding will also be possible.

Heat indices will approach 105 degrees across southern parts of Central Alabama this afternoon.

Friday through next Wednesday.

Severe thunderstorms are possible across portions of Central Alabama on Friday from 10 AM to 7 PM.  Those storms will pose a threat of damaging wind gusts and large hail. Localized flooding may be possible as well with persistent heavy rainfall.

Heat indices will approach 105 degrees across southern parts of Central Alabama through Tuesday.

SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT

Activation of storm spotters and emergency management may be needed today and Friday.
