Mrs. Patricia Joan Vines, age 79 of Forney, peacefully passed away Sunday, August 6th, 2023
Her family will receive friends on Thursday, August 10th, 2023 from 10-11am at Perry Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will immediately follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Jeremy Matthews, Tyler McCoy, Kevin Haney, Mike Wells, and John Rhodes.
She is survived by her son, Johnny (Becky) Matthews of Forney; daughter, Kelly Matthews Reynolds of Forney; grandchildren, Jeremy (Gladys) Matthews, Leila (Jeffery) Reaves, Ashlee Matthews, Mandi (Chris) Cloud, Joseph Matthews, Emily Matthews, Tyler (Vada) McCoy, Aly (Gunter) Holmes, and Jensen Matthews; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Teresa (John) Rhodes; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Jewell Smith, Carol Kitchens, Charles Vines; and her beloved fur babies, Hank, Taz, and Charlie.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Todd and Brett Matthews; brother, Junior Garner; mother, Pauline “Sissy” Garner; father, Virgil Roden; and step-father, Robert Garner.
Mrs. Vines was a native of Cherokee County and of the Baptist Faith. She is deeply loved by her family and will be missed tremendously. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friendship Cemetery Fund or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
