Shooting At Blue Pond With One Injured
A shooting incident occurred Saturday evening at a residence in the Blue Pond community at the intersection of county road 48 and 662.
Chief Deputy with the Sheriff Department, Josh Summerford, tells WEIS Radio News, the victim and the shooter were acquaintances. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to his leg. The shooter fled the scene but was soon taken into custody. He is identified as Joshua Jones, age 38 of Centre.
Jones has been charged with assault 1st degree and lodged in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
