Just before 1 pm Thursday, a three alarm fire call was sent out from Central Dispatch for a possible fire at Wendy’s on west Main Street in Centre. Centre, Cedar Bluff and Leesburg Fire Departments were dispatched with Centre responding immediately. When they arrived on the scene there was no visible smoke. The other two departments were on standby.
Upon investigation, it was discovered a Wifi unit had sparked and caused smoke behind the unit.
No significant damage was reported and the Centre Fire Department went back into service.
