During the County Commission meeting on Monday afternoon, the commission heard from citizens during the public comment period of the Planning Session. Michelle Short of the County Road 8, 45, 126, and 185 areas near the Indian Mountain ATV Park, spoke to the Commission about the illegal use of the County Roads by Patrons from the Park. She also thanked the commission for putting a mid-road stripe on the county roads in the area and Sheriff Shaver for an increase patrol in the area. She said the situation was improved during the past two weeks when the Park was closed.
During the regular meeting, Chairman Burgess announced the resignation of Randall Crabtree from the Cherokee County Parks and Recreation Board. The commission will accept applications, resumes, or letters from persons who want to serve out the remainder of the 6 year term ending in December 2027 until August 23, 2023. The appointment will be at the August 28th meeting.
The Commission also approved the standard software and hardware support agreement with Dataworks Plus, LLC.
The next County Commission meeting will be on August 14th at 10 am in the Commission Chambers.
