Chattooga County Store Clerk Reports Gunshots to the Sheriff’s Office
A store clerk at the Borderline Quick Stop – located close to the Cherokee County, Alabama state line in Chattoogaville, Georgia, reported shots fired to the Sheriff’s Office recently.
The store is located near the state line, south of Lyerly.
According to a report released on Tuesday – the clerk reported that a northbound car (red in color) – pulled up in the highway, and fired shots while the clerk was locking up the store for the night on July 11th. The clerk told a responding deputy that she went to talk with the owner of the store before she called 9-1-1.
The report came in at around 11:30pm – but the clerk said that the shots were fired at 10:15 that evening.
The responding deputy said that no shell casings or bullet holes were found.
The incident is still under investigation.
