Two Charged With Animal Cruelty In Rome

A 40-year-old Rome man has been charged with a felony count of aggravated cruelty to animals in a case that also involved the arrest of a Rome woman.

According to the arrest warrant:  Michael Vernon Davis failed to get immediate veterinary care for her dog which suffered from a fracture of the right femur.  The leg was rendered useless and disfigured from the injury, requiring amputation.

Davis is the second person to be arrested in this case.

36-year-old Jennifer Dawn Heath was charged with aggravated animal cruelty earlier in the week.
