The National Weather Service says Plenty of warm and moist air will be available through the weekend for heat indices to be in the triple digits. There is also a threat for severe weather later today and Saturday.

Excessive heat: For All of central Alabama
- Now through Monday (Ongoing Excessive Heat Warnings and/or Heat Advisories will likely be extended into the weekend)
- Threats from the heat include Heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
