New Aquatic Center Opening this Week

During the Centre City Council meeting Tuesday afternoon, Mayor Mark Mansfield told the Council the new Aquatic Center is opening at 10 am Friday. He said the contractors will turn the facility over to the City Thursday afternoon for the Friday opening. The Council adopted the fees for the center during the Council meeting.

The City got a glowing report for their audit report from Johnny Williams from Frost and Associates. Williams said overall the City is in excellent financial condition and those who manage the funds are great stewards of the tax payer’s money. He said the projected budget funds and the expenses come in under the projections. The Council approved the $19850 audit fee to Frost and Associates.

A $2000 Sponsorship to the Cherokee County High School Band Boosters was approved. A $100 expenditure to join the Sweet Grown Alabama was approved.

The next Centre City Council meeting will be July 11 at 5 pm in the Council Chambers.
