Reactor Assembly Plant Coming To Gadsden

Mayor Craig Ford Announces 250 High Paying Jobs Coming To Gadsden

The Mayor’s office held a press conference Thursday to announce Gadsden was chosen for the location of a $232 Million Dollar manufacturing plant to be built on Steele Station Road near the Gadsden Airport. Mayor Ford tells us about the operations:

Ford said the jobs would be high tech to highly skilled with pay from $50-90 thousand per year. The training center at Gadsden State Community College will train the employees for their jobs.

The City of Gadsden was chosen for this plant out more than 100 locations across 16 states. Gadsden was chosen based on affordable living for the employees, the terrain, and the accessibility to the Industrial Development Coordinator, David Hooks, the Mayor’s Association, the Mayor’s Office, the work force availability,  history of manufacturing in the City, and quality of life.

Governor Kay Ivey and her staff and the Secretary of Commerce and their staff were instrumental in helping locate the company in Gadsden, during the several  months process of site selection, according to Ford.
