Cedar Bluff Town Council Appoints New Council Member

Cedar Bluff Mayor Tammy Crane called a Special Meeting Thursday afternoon at 5:00 to appoint new council members to the Council after two members resigned.  Districts 1 and 5 Seats were vacant.

District 1 Seat had 3 applicants to be considered.  Two persons were nominated but failed to reach a majority vote.

The District 5 Seat was filled after the first nomination failed to reach a majority vote.  Councilmember Ritchey then nominated Loretta Higgins to fill the position with the second from Councilman Bond with a yes vote coming from Councilmember Grace and also Mayor Crane.

Mrs. Higgins was not in attendance due to having surgery on Thursday. Mayor Crane told the Council she would get with Higgins as soon as she recuperated enough to be sworn in.

No further business was conducted and the meeting adjourned.
