Woman Bites State Trooper’s Hand
A 32-year-old Rome, Georgia woman faces a felony obstruction charge after she allegedly bit a Georgia State Trooper’s hand during a traffic stop Tuesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Amber Ladawn McMurray was stopped on Highway 101 at Rockmart Road for driving 78 miles per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone. She then repotedly refused to sign the citation and would not get out of her vehicle. A struggle then ensued and the trooper was bitten, sustaining a laceration to the hand.
The incident occurred in the presence of a child who was in the vehicle.
McMurray was also charged with battery, simple battery on a law enforcement officer, misdemeanor obstruction, 3rd-degree cruelty to children, and speeding.
