The Georgia State Patrol Post in Rome says that a man lost his life on Saturday afternoon after a single-vehicle accident on Highway 27 near Scott Hill Road.
A trooper responded to the scene of the accident at 12:37pm.
That vehicle left the roadway on Highway 27 inside a curve, and it struck a culvert; the impact caused the vehicle to vault over a driveway and then strike a ditch; the impact caused the vehicle to overturn on its left side.
The driver was unresponsive as troopers arrived on the scene, and was taken to Atrium Health Floyd in Rome – where he died from his injuries.
The driver was identified as 64 year-old Richard Bevans.
