Summerville Police Arrest Irate Man

A 22-year-old Summerville, Georgia man was arrested recently after becoming irate at some people who were playing football in the street.

According to a report from the Summerville Police Department, police responded to a call about a man getting angry over the street football game and making threats.  Police spoke with witnesses and then went to Crowe Street.  When they arrived they found Christopher Ryan Timmons in the yard, screaming.

A woman at the residence stated Timmons had gotten so angry about the people playing football in the street that he grabbed a hammer and threatened to go back and fight with the people playing football.  At that point, the woman tossed the keys to the vehicle in the yard to prevent Timmons from driving.  Police say that Timmons was heavily intoxicated at the time.

Timmons was arrested and taken to the Chattooga County Jail on disorderly conduct charges.
