High Speed Motorcycle Pursuit

The Cherokee County Sheriff Deputies and other departments were involved in a motorcycle chase Sunday afternoon. The event began around 2:15 near the Georgia state line on highway 9.

The chase traveled south into the Fairell community, then past the highway 35 intersection, on through Cedar Bluff with speeds in excess of 80mph with the speeder traveling across the causeway with deputies waiting at the Blackwell’s Crossroads area.

The operator of the bike laid the bike down and jumped off and run on foot. The foot chase didn’t last long until the deputies, Cedar Bluff Police and the Centre Police department had the subject in custody. He was transported to the county jail.

Dale Holtzclaw, 35 of Rome was booked into the county jail on 2 counts of attempting to elude.
