Mrs. Annette Dent Townsend

Mrs. Annette Dent Townsend passed away peacefully in Centre, Alabama on the evening of June 2.

Mrs. Townsend was a follower of Christ and was most recently a member of Crosspoint Church in Perry, Georgia. She was a native of Georgia and recently moved to Cherokee County, Alabama to be close to her children.

he is survived by her two sons; Jeff (and his wife, Molly) and Sid, and her four grandchildren: Lee Townsend, Katherine Kiernan-Townsend (Sean), Anna Townsend, and Elizabeth Townsend. She is also survived by a brother, Sidney A. Dent of Brunswick, Georgia and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Charles H. Townsend, Jr and her parents, Sidney Dent and Louise Platt Dent.

She was born in Brunswick, Georgia in 1935. She later moved to Atlanta to attend nursing school at Grady Memorial Hospital. After becoming a registered nurse, she met her future husband. After they were married, they lived in his hometown of Marietta, Georgia for the remainder of their life together.

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, June 13 at 3:00 in the afternoon at the Georgia Veterans Cemetery where she will be placed alongside her husband. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Crosspoint Church in Perry, Georgia at www.crosspointperry.com.
