Nellie Chesnut Mitchell, age 90 of Cedar Bluff passed away Wednesday, May 31st at her residence.
Graveside services will be 2 PM Saturday, June 3rd at Sand Rock Cemetery with Rev. Jim Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until 1:30 PM Saturday at Perry Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers will include Roger Johnson, Justin Brock, Mickey Chesnut, Edd Oliver, Josh Davis, Nolan Brock and Matt Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearer will be JC Stallings.
Survivors include son, James “Jimmy” Erskine Mitchell, Jr.; daughter, Laura Ann Oliver (Edd), Karen Brock; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; nurses with hospice.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Erskine Mitchell, Sr.; son, John Phillip Mitchell; son-in-law, Wayne Brock; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Ms. Mitchell was a native of Cherokee County, was the daughter of the late Leonard Chesnut and Lena Manda and was member of Tucker’s Chapel Methodist Church.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Cherokee County Humane Society.
