UPDATE / 18-Wheeler Wreck Near Intersection of Highways 35 and 273 in Cherokee County (Alabama) on Thursday Morning

UPDATE

The Gaylesville Fire Department – and other first responders – were dispatched to reports of an 18-wheeler that rolled over at approximately 10:25 Thursday morning – near the intersection of Alabama Highways 35 and 273 in Cherokee County.

According to information by the Alabama State Troopers Post the driver of the new 2024 Peterbilt – identified as a male from Macon, Georgia – was transported for treatment following the wreck.

The shaken driver was removed from the cab of the truck with firefighters using extrication equipment – fortunately however his injuries did not appear to be severe.

Along with Gaylesville Firefighters, units with the Alabama State Troopers, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Atrium/Floyd EMS, Broomtown Fire, the Cherokee County Rescue Squad, and the U.S. Park Service  all responded to the scene.
