Two Accidents (One Fatal) in Cherokee County on Friday

A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:25pm Friday, May 26, has claimed of a Rome, Ga., teen.  The 14-year-old juvenile was critically injured when a 2017 Mahindra all-terrain vehicle that the teen was driving left the roadway, rode up a guide wire and overturned.  

The teenager driving was ejected and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment where the youth succumbed to injuries.  

The passenger, an 8-year-old juvenile, was hurt – and was then transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.  

Both were not using their seat belts at the time of crash.  The crash occurred on Cherokee County 102 near Cherokee County 104, approximately two miles north of Cedar Bluff, in Cherokee County.  

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.

Two people riding a razor on private property in the Rock Run community received minor injuries, and that driver lost control and hit a pole.

Atrium Floyd responded to provide treatment of minor injuries – and that mishap occurred Friday morning.

The Gaylesville Fire Department, Cedar Bluff Police and Atrium Floyd responded. The victim was transported to Atrium Floyd Cherokee Medical Center for treatment.
