Expect lane closures for intersection concrete work
HUNTSVILLE —The Alabama Department of Transportation advises motorists to expect lane closures for intersection improvements at U.S. 411 and Alabama 68 in Leesburg beginning Wednesday, May 31.
During the first stage of the project, two lanes on Alabama 68 — the inside westbound lane and
eastbound left turn lane — will be closed for about three weeks. Traffic will still be allowed to turn left or travel through the intersection via the outside lanes of Alabama 68.
The $2.9 million project with contractor Grout Inc. will include pavement removal and replacement with concrete to increase the durability of the intersection and reduce maintenance.
The project is anticipated to be complete late this year
