The latest “Cherokee County Spotlight” is on Corporal Jonah Smith

Corporal Smith answered four questions about his law enforcement career.

1.) Why did you choose law enforcement  as your career choice?

I enjoy helping people. Law enforcement provides a unique way of helping others. Whether it be helping change a tire, recovering stolen property, or just simply listening to someone talk about their problems.

2.) What is your favorite part about your job?

To me it’s an honor when someone calls you for help on their worst day and not only do you get the opportunity to make a difference, but a lasting impression on that individual.

3.) What is your favorite piece of advice you’ve been given in life?

Never lose your compassion.

If you find a job you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.

4.) What advice would you give to the citizens of Cherokee County?

Put your seatbelt on and don’t drink and drive.
