Severe Weather Crosses Cherokee County Late Monday Afternoon

Both heavy rainfall and strong thunderstorms barreled through Cherokee County on late Monday afternoon with high winds toppling trees in several locations across the area.

Storms and strong winds were mainly situated between 4:30 and 5:30pm, with about one-half inch of rainfall being dumped out across the area during the time, according to the National Weather Service.

We had no reports of any serious damage taking place.
