Cherokee County Law Enforcement Spotlight: Investigator Stephen Hooks

The latest “Cherokee County Law Enforcement Spotlight” features a few minutes with Investigator Stephen Hooks.  Investigator Hooks recently answered four questions in regard to his law enforcement career:

1.) Why did you choose LE as your career choice?

I chose a career in Law Enforcement because I wanted to leave a better tomorrow for our community. I wanted to help the innocent and pursue the guilty.

2.) What is your favorite part about your job?

My favorite part of the job is the look of pure gratitude on the faces of the people we are able to help. I enjoy interacting with our children. They are 50% of our population and 100% of our future.

3.) What is your favorite piece of advice you’ve been given in life?

I read once that cows do not give milk. You have to get up at 5:00 am and milk the cow. You have to work for it. Nothing is free. If you are able to do something, you have an obligation to do it.

4.) What advice would you give to the citizens of Cherokee County?

My advice for our citizens would be to be prepared. Lock your car doors. Write down the serial numbers of all of your belongings. I would rather you have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

We encourage EVERYONE to show appreciation for his passion for law enforcement – and his dedication to helping serve and protect Cherokee County
