GADSDEN POST–A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29, has claimed the life of a Hazel Green man.
Johnny R. Huff, 65, was fatally injured when the 2002 GMC Yukon that he was driving left the roadway, struck a culvert, went airborne, overturned and come to rest in a ravine. Huff was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on U.S. 278 near Rowan Drive, approximately five miles west of Attalla, in Etowah County. The highway was shut down for a period of time while the wreck scene was being worked and cleaned up.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
