Summerville Man Under Arrest

On April 18th, Summerville Police responded to the Circle K on Commerce Street to speak with the driver of a vehicle, who stated his vehicle rolled out of the gas station parking lot, across the road – and into the parking lot of the “Fit Pit” – where several people were set up selling yard sale items.

Police said that by the time they arrived, two people had already been transported to the hospital.

The vehicle also damaged two other vehicles and yard sale merchandise.

The driver of that vehicle was identified in a police report as 79-year-old David Mott of Lyerly.  Mott told police he failed to put his vehicle in park, before going inside the store.  The two people hit by the vehicle were identified in the report as Lisa Tucker and Frankie Wade.  Their condition and injuries were not noted in the report that was released on Monday, April 24th
