Sand Rock finishes 4-1 in Albertville Softball Tournament

ALBERTVILLE – Class 2A, No. 3 Sand Rock finished the Albertville Softball Tournament by going 4-1, including winning two of three games on Saturday.

Sand Rock opened Saturday play with an 8-0 win over DAR.

Jadyn Foster went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with two runs and two RBIs. Lacey Barnette was 3-for-4 with a triple, a run and a RBI. Sherina Foster was also 3-for-4 with a double and two runs. Aliyah King went 2-for-4 with two runs and a RBI.

Emma Sipsy doubled, scored a run and drove in two. Briley Knight tripled and drove in a run. Peyton Johnson finished with a hit.

Jadyn Foster picked up the win in the circle. She worked three innings of one-hit ball with six strikeouts. Sispy worked the other three innings, giving up three hits and a walk with three strikeouts.

In an 11-7 win over Alexandria, Sand Rock rallied for five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the win.

King and Sipsy both belted three hits, including a double apiece. King scored three runs and drove in another. Sipsy scored a run and drove in two.

Jadyn Foster went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs. Sherina Foster was also 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and a RBI. Johnson was 2-for-3 with a run and a RBI. Barnette tripled and scored a run. Knight was 1-for-3 with a run and two RBIs. Zoey Handy had a hit and scored a run. Bailey Kilgore drew a walk.

Jadyn Foster earned the win after working four innings. She gave up two earned runs on eight hits with no walks and six strikeouts.

In an 8-6 loss to Albertville, Jadyn Foster led the Lady Wildcats at the plate by going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs. Sipsy was also 2-for-4 with two runs and a RBI. Lacey Barnette went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs. Sherina Foster was also 2-for-4.

Johnson and Knight both went 1-for-3. Johnson also had a RBI. King scored a run.

Sipsy suffered the loss after working two innings. She gave up five earned runs on seven hits. Jadyn Foster worked four innings and finished with eight strikeouts.
