Sand Rock softball goes 2-0 in Albertville Tournament

ALBERTVILLE – In the Albertville Tournament on Friday, Sand Rock defeated White Plains 2-1 and Arab 11-1 to improve to 32-6 on the softball season.

Against White Plains, the Lady Wildcats scored both their runs on in the top of the first inning on a Jadyn Foster home run. Foster made them hold up after she tossed a one-hitter. She walked one and struck out nine. Foster also walked at the plate.

Sherina Foster had the only other Sand Rock hit. She also scored a run.

In the Arab game, both Fosters delivered a double and drove in two runs. Sherina Foster walked twice and Jadyn Foster walked once. Peyton Johnson collected a pair of hits, a walk, a run and a RBI. Aliyah King contributed a hit, two runs and two RBIs.

Molly Lay had a walk, a run and a RBI. Bailey Kilgore scored twice and Briley Knight scored once. Madeline Clanton also scored a run.

Jadyn Foster tossed four innings of three-hit ball, giving up an earned run with 10 strikeouts. Emma Sipsy worked an inning of one-hit ball with a pair of strikeouts.

The Lady Wildcats play DAR to open Saturday’s tournament play at 11 a.m.
