Sand Rock smashes five home runs in softball rout of Collinsville

COLLINSVILLE – Emma Sipsy went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a pair of home runs, scored four times and drove in six runs in leading the Sand Rock Lady Wildcats to a 17-1 area softball victory in four innings at Collinsville on Tuesday.

Class 2A, No. 3 Sand Rock (30-6) smashed five home runs in the game. Zoey Handy, Katelyn StClair and Jadyn Foster had the other three. Foster also added a double, a walk, three runs and three RBIs. StClair scored three runs and drove in two.

Sherina Foster collected a hit, a walk and three runs. Aliyah King and Lacey Barnette both contributed a hit, a walk and a run. Barnette also drove in a run. Bailey Kilgore finished with a hit, a walk and a RBI.

Jadyn Foster picked up the win in the circle. She tossed all four innings, giving up an earned run on two hits with no walks and eight strikeouts.

Kristina Johnson and Tyla Tatum had the lone Collinsville hits. Johnson also scored the Lady Panthers’ run. Chloe Davis suffered the loss after working 1 2/3 innings.
