Cedar Bluff pounds out 18 hits in 16-6 softball win over Glencoe

CEDAR BLUFF – Class 1A, No. 4 Cedar Bluff pounded out 18 hits and scored in every inning of their 16-6 softball win in six innings over visiting Glencoe on Friday.

Mattie Payne and Za’Niya Kyle both blasted home runs. Both players went 2-for-4 at the plate. Payne also doubled, walked twice, scored four times and drove in two runs. Kyle scored a run and had two RBIs.

Natalie Baty was 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, four runs and a RBI. Harlie Nelson also had three hits, including a double, with a run and two RBIs.

Ciana Smith went 2-for-4 with a walk, a run and two RBIs. Haley Allen and Rylie Walker also went 2-for-4. Allen drove in two runs and Walker drove in one.

Reece Patterson collected a hit, three runs, two walks and two RBIs. Kylie Vadon tripled, scored twice and drove in a run.

Patterson picked up the win in the circle. She gave up two earned runs on seven hits with a walk and three strikeouts.
