The Piedmont softball and baseball teams moved up a spot this week in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association rankings. The latest poll was released early Thursday morning.
The Lady Bulldogs (24-8) come in at No. 4 and the Bulldog boys (18-5) move up to No. 3 in Class 3A.
Nothing else changed for other area teams. In softball, Sand Rock (29-6) holds steady at No. 3 in Class 2A, while Cedar Bluff (11-14) and Spring Garden (9-10) both hold firm at No. 4 and No. 10 in Class 1A.
Class 4A Cherokee County (17-7) continues to receive consideration, as do baseball’s Collinsville (18-7), Gaylesville (13-9) and Spring Garden (9-7).
