The inaugural First Friday of 2023 starts tonight at 6p.m. and will run to 9 p.m.
Broad Street will close to traffic at about 4:15 p.m. Friday, so food vendors and the traditional classic cars can set up. Downtown retailers, restaurants and the Gadsden Museum of Art will stay open late.
The entertainment lineup features Keyboard from Heaven at Third and Broad streets, DieDra the Blues Diva at Fourth and Broad and the Kings of Swing at Fifth and Broad.
“We know that everyone is looking forward to the 2023 season of First Friday,” DGI Director Kay Moore said in the release. “We’re excited to start off with three great musical acts, several food vendors and the crowd-favorite classic cars. There will be something for the entire family to enjoy.”
No pets, personal coolers, glass containers, skateboards or roller blades are permitted at First Friday. Also, no advertising or fundraising is allowed.
