The needle didn’t move much at all for area softball and baseball teams this week in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association high school rankings. The latest poll was released early Thursday morning.
In softball, Sand Rock (22-6) still leads the area, coming in at No. 3 in Class 2A. Class 1A Cedar Bluff (11-12) and Spring Garden (7-7) maintained their No. 4 and No. 10 rankings respectively, while Class 3A Piedmont (18-8) holds steady at No. 5.
Class 4A Cherokee County (10-7) continues to be nominated.
In baseball, Piedmont (15-5) fell one spot to No. 4 this week. Class 2A Collinsville (15-7) and Class 1A Gaylesville (11-8) and Spring Garden (8-7) continue to be among the others nominated.
