The Leesburg town council met for their monthly meeting on Monday. Among the usual business handled, the council approved 2 hiring motions; one for a full time Police Officer for the public safety department, and one for a part time maintenance man for the public works department.
The council approved a motion to purchase a new transmission needed by the town for a one ton truck. As well as a new desktop computer for Chief Chatman. The council also approved a motion to move forward with the purchase of a surplus 2014 Chevy Tahoe for the police department.
The council then went into executive session to discuss a legal matter, which was ultimately tabled for a later meeting.
The mayor announced to the audience that at the Annual Chamber Banquet on Thursday April 27th, will include a retirement reception for Thereasa Hulgan immediately following the banquet.
The next meeting of the Leesburg Town Council will be Monday May 1st
