SPRING GARDEN – Kayley Kirk, Helena Ingram, Maggie Reedy and Madi Ham each delivered a pair of hits, and Lilly McCain and Avery Steward took care of things in the circle to lead Class 1A, No. 10 Spring Garden to a 4-1 softball win over Appalachian on Tuesday.

Kirk, Ingram and Ham each doubled and scored a run. Ingram also walked for the Lady Panthers (7-7). Steward doubled and drove in a pair of runs. Maggie Jarrett doubled and scored a run.

Layla Ingram added a hit and a RBI. McCain also managed a hit.

McCain also earned the win in the circle after working four innings. She allowed one earned run on four hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Steward tossed three innings of no-hit ball with four strikeouts.

Spring Garden scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning and added two more in the sixth to take a 4-0 advantage. Appalachian scored its lone run in the top of the seventh.
